Instant death without any time for resistance. Is this the end for the one they call hero? How underwhelming...
— Homeless Emperor after launching his initial barrage.

Zombieman vs. Homeless Emperor is the battle between the S-Class hero, Zombieman, and the executive of the Monster Association, Homeless Emperor.

Prelude[]

Homeless Emperor ambushes Zombieman

Homeless Emperor surprises Zombieman.

Zombieman, having recovered from defeating a vampire and several other monsters, delves deeper into the Monster Association Headquarters. He senses the vibrations from a nearby battle, making him uneasy about the raid’s progress. While lost in thought, he is jolted back to reality by the voice of Homeless Emperor, one of the Monster Association's executives, who suddenly appears behind him and questions whether he is genuinely concerned about the fate of the other heroes.

Battle[]

Startled by Homeless Emperor's sudden appearance, Zombieman attempts to turn around, but he is quickly hit by a barrage of explosive orbs. Homeless Emperor finds the hero's demise underwhelming.

Vaporization

Homeless Emperor disintegrates Zombieman's head.

Homeless Emperor mentions that he checked the official Hero Association website and noted there are 17 S-Class heroes, claiming he alone is sufficient to eliminate them all. Zombieman manages to sneak up behind him, urging him to hold on as he attempts to strike with his Long-bearded Axe. However, Homeless Emperor reacts in time, dodging the attack while launching a counterattack that vaporizes the immortal hero's head.

Homeless Emperor's close-range energy ball

Zombieman collapses to his knees. Homeless Emperor fires another energy blast into his chest. Zombieman retaliates with a bullet at point-blank range, but one of Homeless Emperor's energy spheres intercepts it, resulting in a massive explosion that sends Zombieman flying. Homeless Emperor observes that Zombieman's injuries seem painful, but Zombieman, who has begun to regrow his head and is in the process of regenerating his hands, is surprised that Homeless Emperor could block such a close-range attack.

Zombieman barely survives against Homeless Emperor

Zombieman barely survives Homeless Emperor's energy blasts.

Zombieman reveals he has a hidden trump card, using his regrown hand to reach into his chest. He pulls out a gun he had concealed as a contingency measure, and with his head nearly regenerated, he prepares to fire at Homeless Emperor. However, as he shoots, Homeless Emperor counters with his energy spheres, resulting in an enormous explosion.

As the dust settles, Zombieman's charred body is revealed, with most of his stomach vaporized, his limbs severely damaged, and his hands obliterated once more. Homeless Emperor remarks that, true to form for an S-Class hero, Zombieman remains undeterred even in death, acknowledging his strength. Recognizing the overwhelming power of Homeless Emperor, Zombieman tries to buy time by inquiring about the nature of Homeless Emperor's light powers and how he acquired his abilities. Homeless Emperor acknowledges that his undying body is not merely a figure of speech.

Homeless Emperor backstory

Homeless Emperor forced to dance naked.

Complying with Zombieman's request, Homeless Emperor begins to share his story. Until a month ago, he had lost his job and been evicted by his landlord, leading him to become a recluse. He explains that he lost his job after being falsely accused of sexual harassment for dancing naked at a welcome party for new recruits, despite his boss forcing him to do so. Living in the wilderness, he grew enamored with the beauty of nature, believing it superior to human creations. He then had a revelation: to escape the narrow, ugly, and foolish world created by human intelligence, he needed to return to nature and coexist with the earth—through suicide.

Zombieman stalling for time

Zombieman stalls Homeless Emperor for time in order to regenerate.

Before he could act on this plan, an unknown force who he referred to as "God" approached him. This entity congratulated Homeless Emperor for recognizing the foolishness of humanity but insisted he had no reason to die. Instead, it granted him power, telling him that he should know what to do with it. Concluding his story, Homeless Emperor asserts that he possesses the "divine power" bestowed upon him by God, claiming to be the chosen one for understanding the truth about humanity. He continues to criticize humans for their detrimental impact on the planet, declaring that the time has come for him to eradicate all existence and civilization.

Homeless Emperor blows a hole through Zombieman

Homeless Emperor destroys Zombieman's body.

While Zombieman listens to this, he internally panics, realizing the conversation has ended before his body can fully regenerate. He continues to stall by questioning Homeless Emperor why he believes the entity to be God, mockingly asking if the entity has an ID. Annoyed by Zombieman's brazen, Homeless Emperor states that the hero doesn't need to believe in God and that their conversation has gone on long enough. As punishment for his arrogance, Homeless Emperor decrees that Zombieman will die and return to the earth, firing several more energy spheres.

Aftermath[]

Their battle is interrupted when Tatsumaki brings all the heroes underground back to the surface. Homeless Emperor nearly incinerates Zombieman as he shields Child Emperor from Homeless Emperor's energy spheres. When Homeless Emperor joins the other Monster Association executives to attack King, Zombieman restrains him, demanding to know more about the God Homeless Emperor mentioned. Before Homeless Emperor can answer, "God" appears in his mind, taking away his powers and his life.
