Venus Mantrap

Venus Mantrap (ヒトトリグサ, Hitotorigusa, Viz: Venus Peopletrap) was a Mysterious Being that attacks Narinki, the sponsor of the Hero Association with Junior Centipede. He was killed by Metal Bat.^[1]

Appearance[]

Venus Mantrap was a big monster with the appearance of a carnivorous plant.

Personality[]

His personality was left rather ambiguous, but he seemed to be rather impatient and lusted for human flesh.

Monster Raid Arc[]

Venus Mantrap emerges from the ground with Junior Centipede at a restaurant. Junior Centipede briefly mentions that he is looking for the sponsor of Hero Association. Before they could grab the sponsor, Metal Bat grabs a coat and engages in a fight with him and his partner.^[2] Venus Mantrap's corpse is being sat upon by Metal Bat. A heavily injured Junior Centipede notes that Metal Bat killed Venus Mantrap in an instant.^[3]

Trivia[]

Venus Mantrap's name is a pun on ハエトリグサ, which reads as "haetorigusa" which means "flycatcher" or "Venus flytrap". Venus Mantrap's name is ヒトトリグサ, which reads as "hitotorigusa", ハエ (which means fly) was replaced with ヒト (which means person, human, etc.).
He is Rafflesidon's "junior" in the same sense as Junior Centipede is to Senior Centipede.
