Surprise Attack Plum (奇襲梅, Kishū Ume) was a Mysterious Being who monsterized after being arrested by the police. He was killed by Saitama.^[2]

Appearance

While human, his appearance was rather average, with short black hair and glasses. After monsterizing, his body became taller in stature and became rounder and more muscular. Multiple dimples appeared on his body.

Personality

Surprise-Attack Plum had a vengeful character, seeking revenge against the police after they arrested him for drug possession.

History

Surprise Attack Plum was arrested as a human for drug possession, which caused him to lose his job and his family. He became a monster to exact revenge on the police.^[3]

Surprise Attack Plum began attacking their establishment after shedding his delivery man disguise, stating his hatred and assault on the Law was out of revenge for busting him earlier in his life, with the disaster at hand Chief Kuma had to be dragged away from the questioning room to observe the threat. Saitama single-handedly took out the monster as the rest of them looked on goading the creature into an attack.

Surprise-Attack Plum has been shown to possess impressive physical strength, speed and agility. He is bulletproof and possesses a pit he can fire out of his face for ranged attacks, with impressive ricochet ability.

Shock Absorption (衝撃吸収, Shōgeki kyūshū): Surprise-Attack Plum is capable of absorbing the power of the attacks that he receives.^[1]

Mimicry Ability (擬態能力, Gitai nōryoku): Thanks to his elasticity, Surprise Attack Plum can take the appearance of a normal human, and recover his original appearance. He can take on the appearance of any human.^[1]

Fighting Style

Marksman: Surprise Attack Plum uses projectiles to attack his opponents.^[1]

Seed Launch (種発射, Tane Hassha): Surprise Attack Plum launches a projectile from his face that ricochets multiple times.^[4]^[1]

Trivia

"Kishū" is a homonym of surprise attack (奇襲, Kishū), and Japanese place name (紀州, Kishū). This is an area famous for production of the plums.

Surprise-Attack Plum is among the few monsters of human origin who can access their human form, the others being Gale Wind, Hellfire Flame and Haragiri.
