The Smelly Lid Old Man (臭蓋爺, Shūgai-jī)[1] was an B-Class villain and was the oldest prisoner of Smelly Lid Prison. It can be assumed that he was turned into a monster by Nyan and killed by Puri-Puri Prisoner.

The Smelly Lid Old Man was an elderly man with a large nose and many missing teeth. While in prison, he wore the standard striped prison uniform, along with a small hat.
PersonalityEdit
The Smelly Lid Old Man, being the oldest and longest-held prisoner, took great pleasure in watching new prisoners suffer. However, like the other prisoners, he had a great fear of Puri-Puri Prisoner.

Smelly Lid Old Man was secluded at Smelly Lid Prison because of his drug making expertise and thus was a bad influence for prisoners in a normal prison.[1]

When Nyan breaks into Smelly Lid Prison in search of Puri-Puri Prisoner, the Smelly Lid Old Man and the other prisoners question the monster's motives.[2]

When Speed-o'-Sound Sonic entered the prison and began examining the structure, the Smelly Lid Old Man warned him there is no escape, no morals and no salvation in prison. He gleefully states that he saw many prisoners lose their minds and couldn't wait for the same thing to happen to Sonic. After Sonic defeated a prisoner and caused a commotion, which woke up their boss, the Smelly Lid Old Man explained the situation and admits he is afraid of their boss.
