| — Saitama to Tatsumaki. |
Saitama vs. Tatsumaki is the battle between Saitama and Tatsumaki, the second-highest ranking S-Class hero.
Prelude[]
In the underground of the Hero Association Headquarters at A-City, after preventing Psykos from being abducted by Apollo, a member of Tsukuyomi, Tatsumaki decides to make Fubuki cut ties with the Blizzard Group. Just as she prepares to punish the group members to ensure they cease bothering Fubuki, Saitama intervenes, grabbing her hand firmly.
Battle[]
Saitama resists Tatsumaki's psychic power.
Suddenly halted by Saitama, Tatsumaki feels frustrated and demands he release her. When Saitama doesn’t comply and instead urges her to calm down, Tatsumaki attempts to hurl him away with her telekinesis. However, Saitama withstands her power and comments that her ability is not much different from Fubuki's. Provoked, Tatsumaki amplifies her psychic force in an effort to shake him off, resulting in a massive blast that destroys the wall behind them.
Saitama holds Tatsumaki and jumps into the air.
Tatsumaki is taken aback by Saitama's resilience as he casually mentions that his muscles are twitching on their own. She then recognizes him as the companion of Genos, while Saitama tells Fubuki to lead the others to safety. Fubuki complies, prompting Tatsumaki to question their relationship. Saitama clarifies that he is merely an acquaintance, to which Tatsumaki declares she will soon determine if he is worthy of hanging over Fubuki. As her psychic power distorts the surroundings, Saitama tightly embraces her and, with a powerful leap, propels them both out of the area.
Tatsumaki flings Saitama around.
They crash to the ground two kilometers northwest of the Hero Association Headquarters. Tatsumaki attempts to shake Saitama off by flinging him, but he maintains his grip on her wrist. Blushing, she asks if he likes her, to which he flatly denies, stating he just wants her to stop causing destruction. Tatsumaki, angrily claming that she won't flee from someone she considers weaker, finally prompts Saitama to release her. Complimenting Saitama that he is a little bit strong, she amplifies her psychic output and flicks his forehead, sending him flying backward, stating that he will not die by just this. Saitama regains his balance and observes with excitement as Tatsumaki levitates debris, creating a massive tornado that swirls the rubble around.
Tatsumaki creates a tornado to fight Saitama.
Tatsumaki begins launching a barrage of flying rocks at him, which he deflects with one arm before jumping around the flying rocks to dodge her attack. The missed rocks leave significant craters in their wake. Nearby, a family car, en route to the Hero Association Headquarters, gets caught in the chaos and is about to be crushed by a boulder. Saitama intervenes, smashing the boulder and loudly telling Tatsumaki to be mindful of her surroundings to avoid collateral damage. Unwilling to take orders, Tatsumaki continues her assault, but Saitama, using his bare hands, deflects several boulders thrown at him, only to inadvertently redirect one toward the family car. Quickly, he rushes to shield the vehicle, but Tatsumaki pulls it into the air first, smugly taunting the Caped Baldy and reminding him to watch his surroundings, too.
Tatsumaki destroying Saitama's jacket.
Tatsumaki lets out a huge psychic wave, shredding Saitama's Niku 🍖 Jacket, which frustrates him. He is then sent flying to N-City. Meanwhile, in that city, the A-Class hero Feather is struggling against the A-Class criminal Big Iron and his gang. Upon discovering that Erika is not a hostage, Feather steels himself for battle, excitedly declaring this will be his climax as a hero. However, his moment is swiftly interrupted when Saitama crashes through the wall, knocking him down. Annoyed by the disturbance, Big Iron attacks Saitama, but Saitama effortlessly punches him aside. Meanwhile, Tatsumaki takes care of the remaining gang members with ease.
In another location, Metal Bat is dispatched to H-City to deal with the Dragon-level threat Kenzan Rat. He is in a rush, having come from another city because his cat is about to give birth. After a lengthy sprint, he finally confronts the rampaging monster, but before he can engage, Tatsumaki kills it by slamming Saitama through its head. Tatsumaki continues to smash Saitama through several buildings in their path. Frustrated by this, Metal Bat watches in dismay. He forces himself to calm down as he heads home, reminding himself that Zenko is waiting for him.
After more destruction, Saitama urges Tatsumaki to stop and suggests they return to their original location to minimize further chaos. She hesitates for a moment but ultimately agrees. However, just as Saitama tries to determine their next move, Tatsumaki slams his head into the ground and drags him to the base of the building they are on, insisting he is looking the wrong way and claiming she will help him get there. As she pulls Saitama along by the head, she notices something rapidly approaching them and speculates whether it is a monster or a hero. It turns out to be Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, still bent on avenging himself against Saitama. Sonic launches Homing Exploding Shurikens, claiming they are impossible to escape. Tatsumaki, unimpressed, tells Sonic to leave and uses her psychic powers to send the shurikens back at him. Although Sonic skillfully avoids each one, he soon slips on dog waste, causing the shurikens to return to him, ensnaring him in his own attack.
Fubuki witnessing the destruction caused by Tatsumaki in the fight with Saitama.
Back on the outskirts of the Hero Association Headquarters, Saitama slips free from Tatsumaki's grasp, urging her to continue her rampage. Tatsumaki threatens him, warning that she will start getting serious. Saitama replies nonchalantly, telling her to go ahead. Initially taken aback, Tatsumaki soon smiles and resumes her fight against him. From a distance, Fubuki watches the intensity of their battle in awe.
As their fight intensifies, King stands outside Saitama's apartment. Saitama is sent flying and lands next to King, greeting him and noticing that he has come to play some games. Saitama tells him he will join later, to which King asks what he is doing. Saitama casually replies, “I’m fighting that shrimp, Tornado.” This infuriates Tatsumaki, who then attempts a double kick at him, which Saitama dodges, inadvertently exposing her panties. Saitama then leaps out of the apartment, with Tatsumaki in hot pursuit.
Tatsumaki tries to crush Saitama with the surrounding land.
The battle continues, and at one point, Saitama is knocked into a hospital where Forte is recovering. Forte asks what Saitama is doing, but Saitama ignores him, advising him to rest more before jumping back into the fight. As their skirmish rages on, Tatsumaki begins to tire and recognizes the destruction she was causing. Although she is enjoying the battle, Saitama remains completely unharmed. Determined to end the fight swiftly, she conjures a tsunami of rocks to crush him. However, Saitama effortlessly punches through the debris, remaining unscathed. Tatsumaki is visibly shocked to see him still in peak condition.
Tatsumaki exerts her telekinesis on Saitama who easily resists the ability.
She descends to the ground to continue their fight, but fatigue has started to set in. Saitama warns her not to overexert herself, but she disregards his advice, channeling her psychic energy to try to send him into space. Saitama easily resists, reminding her that he is not her enemy, yet Tatsumaki still refuses to accept his offer of truce. Having overextended herself, she begins to black out.
Aftermath[]
After losing consciousness from exhaustion, Tatsumaki drifts into a dream where she recalls attempting to escape with Fubuki, only to frighten her after (presumably) killing four espers from Tsukuyomi. This fear triggers Fubuki to activate her powers for the first time, driven by the terror of her sister. Tatsumaki then experiences a vivid memory of her childhood, where she sees Blast walking away from her. She chases after him, pleading that she tried but that people are scared of her, asking what she should do. Blast remains silent, simply turning to look at her, and a blinding light radiates from behind him, overwhelming her vision.
Tatsumaki wakes up, realizing the blinding light was actually reflecting off Saitama's bald head. She sits up, and Saitama asks if she is fine, to which she responds with a resigned sigh. Saitama comments on her strength, but she retorts with a snarky reply. Though slightly annoyed, Saitama expresses relief that she is okay. He advises her to pursue her path as a hero, but cautions her not to harm others or cause collateral damage. Patting her on the head, he adds that if she heeds his advice, she could become a great hero.
Trivia[]
- In the webcomic, the fight is interrupted by Tatsumaki's injuries from the Monster Association war, causing both parties to back down. Though in the manga, Tatsumaki passes out near the end of the fight as she pushed herself too far.
- In the webcomic, Saitama was barefoot the entire time while in the manga, Saitama has crocs on the entire time.
