Saitama vs. Awakened Garou is the battle between Saitama and the Hero Hunter Garou, who has become a monster.

Prelude[]

WC Saitama Kills ENW

Saitama and Garou facing off

After Garou had defeated Golden Sperm, awakening his newfound monster form. He beats down all of the S-Class Heroes, not even one of them has the strength to continue fighting leaving them all helpless. To encourage the heroes to stand up and fight, Garou threatens to kill a child, though none of them have the strength to stand up and do anything about it. It all seemed helpless for the heroes.

Suddenly the air gets dryer as Evil Natural Water emerges out from the rocks towering over Garou and the rest of the fallen heroes. Suddenly the Dragon-level threat is destroyed in a single punch, this takes Garou's interest in who could have been able to kill a monster of that level instantly. It's revealed, Saitama is the one to take down the monster asking Garou "What are you supposed to be?"

Garou makes the first move, attacking Saitama without saying anything to him. Though Saitama easily moves out of the way asking why Garou is trying to involve him in his "squabbles." Saitama then mentions how he sees someone in a cheap monster costume and goes further to ask if the horns are handmade. Garou continues to brag about him being a monster, and crushing the Hero Association. Though this annoys Saitama as he complains about how his house is destroyed and that he should "Keep it down at night" as he lives in this neighborhood. After more bragging from the Hero Hunter and his threats of killing a child, Saitama announces that he will kick Garou's ass.

WC Saitama vs Garou 2

Garou being thrown over Saitama's shoulder

Saitama walks up to Garou, taunting him and asking if he's "chicken" to which he responds with a powerful combo of martial arts techniques. Claiming to have defeated the hero in 1 second, he's surprised that Saitama could still stand. Saitama punches Garou before he could even react, sending the monster flying and uncontrollably spinning into a pile of rocks. Garou gets up, and quickly goes to attack Saitama from behind, though is thrown over his shoulder, slamming down to the ground.

Saitama evading Garou's attacks

After Garou gets up, he starts utilizing his breathing techniques, learned from many martial arts. Saitama is impressed that he can still keep going, giving him just a little hope that this could be the challenge he's been so long looking for. He then realises Garou taking a stance, reminding him that he used to be Bang's top student which makes him question if that makes it okay for him to kick Garou's ass.

The awakened monster sends a flurry of different martial arts techniques and hand possessions towards the bald hero who easily evades each strike. Saitama responds by throwing a punch, but Garou evades the punch and counters it with a back hand slap to the face. Then proceeds to attack with his God Slayer Instant Attack, each strike landing on Saitama which pushes him back slightly. Garou starts to grow and improve during the fight, learning and reading Saitama's movements, finally being able to avoid each strike the hero attempts to send at him.

WC Two Handed Consecutive Normal Punches

Saitama attacks Garou with Two-Handed Consecutive Normal Punches

Saitama begins to smile as he expresses how he's impressed by Garou's techniques, though goes on to say he's still not serious enough. He then proceeds to perform one of his serious moves, Serious Table Flip, in hope that it might have Garou put more effort into the fight. The next thing Garou realises, he's high in the night sky seeing nothing but rock and rubble. Saitama appears out of nowhere behind Garou, striking him with Consecutive Normal Punches. This greatly damages Garou, sending him flying into a rock and snapping off one of his horns. In a fit of rage the Hero Hunter tries again with his God Slayer Instant Attack, though is overwhelmed when the bald cape overrides his technique with an all new Two-Handed Consecutive Normal Punches. Garou takes too much damage, and tries to escape but ends up head first underground. It's revealed that Garou was upside down, and has finally hit the ground again when hopping between rocks in the air.

Garou transforms mid battle

After Saitama's final attempt with all those moves to get Garou to take the fight more seriously, doubting his determination he assumes his victory. Saitama once becomes bored again, realising that fighting the Hero Hunter he's been looking for isn't fun at all. This pisses Garou off, confused as to why this would be any "fun" at all. Garou then tries to break Saitama's arm with a full body lock, but is quickly shaken off when slammed against the ground with the power of Saitama's arm. Garou starts taking more of a beating, as he bounces around rubble, desperately trying to strike the hero but is continuously knocked back by different punches. Eventually, Garou is punched up high in the air, it looks like that the Hero Hunter has finally been defeated.

WC Winged Garou Attacks Saitama

Garou transforms into a winged monster

However, a new form of Garou lands from the sky, not too far from the hero. Saitama asks "Why the sudden costume change?" Knowing it's the same guy he's been fighting this entire time. This new bulked-up body of Garou smashes the ground and throws a punch, which Saitama avoids by moving his head. Tough Saitama punches his stomach, making him cough up blood. Garou then charges up his muscles, powering up a super strong punch, which is interrupted by the Caped Baldy's Serious Headbutt, blowing the monster's entire arm off.

Garou begins to regenerate his arm back as he transforms once more. Into a big winged-looking demon creature. Though it does not last long as it's knocked out of him in a single punch from Saitama. It's at this moment where Garou has truly been defeated once and for all, his hero hunt has finally come to an end.

Aftermath[]

WC Saitama defeats Garou

Saitama defeats Garou

After their battle Garou doesn't realise the all powerful monster he was once is now gone, only a weakened, former self of his previous transformations remains. Saitama slaps him across the face "telling him to check it" then punches a hole through his face in response to the monster's desperate attempt at fighting back. At this point, Garou can do nothing but wallow in despair on the ground as he begs his Monster Calamity God Slayer Fist to not leave him. This triggers Garou into one last attack at the Caped Baldy, but is quickly punched away into rubble. Genos watches what remains of Garou, and to no surprise realises that it was his sensei who ended the hero hunt.

Other remaining heroes still in the battleground such as Sweet Mask and Child Emperor declare that Saitama should finish this and kill Garou while he still has the chance. Garou interrupts, giving a passionate speech about how justice and heroism are wrong and the world needing unbiased absolute evil to bring everyone together for world peace. He then goes on to ask Saitama if he has sense of duty like he does, then continues to ask why he is a hero. Saitama thinks for a moment, picking his nose and gives a simple reply "It's a hobby."

WC Saitama Mentally Breaks Garou

Garou becomes human once again

This leaves Garou speechless, he cannot believe what he just heard coming out of a so called "hero's" mouth. He refuses to take that for an answer, and continues to try to get a proper response out of him. Going as far as trying to grip his hero suit and holding him up, demanding a real reply to his question! Pissing Saitama off, he tells him he doesn't know as it's just a hobby, smashing his fist down on top of Garou's head. This completely destroys the top of his monster's head and horns, enough light gets in to see a pair of human eyes still visible within the monster's body. Saitama begins to lecture the Human Monster that his ideals will never work if he cannot defeat him with his "compromised monster hobby" vs his "serious hero hobby", it was that moment where Garou's monster head completely crumbles, revealing the young 18-year-old still inside. Zombieman eventually comes forward claiming even Saitama should know it's not safe for Garou to be left alive, but Saitama continues to say that Garou does not need to die.

After Saitama has finished lecturing Garou, he mentions that Garou should pay the dine and dashing bill from earlier. Though after Garou's ideology has been shattered, he feels as if he'd be better off dead and has nothing to live for anymore. Which encourages Sweet Mask to finish executing him even more. Though Bang emerges out from the rubble, to discipline his rouge disciple. The teacher at long last gives his student a beating with another lecture about taking his power down the wrong path. Garou notices how this beating is similar to the one he received from his old master before being expelled from the dojo.

WC Saitama notices Garou leaving

Garou escapes

Sweet Mask once again, tries to intervene so he can murder Garou on the spot but this time Tareo interrupts screaming that Garou saved his life twice. He then begs and screams for Garou to run away as he fights against Sweet Mask. This causes Zombie Man to notice life filling Garou's defeated eyes once more and tries to stop him but it's too late. Garou escapes, while everyone is left shocked and speechless to figure out where the hero hunter has gone and why, Saitama casually looks up to the sky watching him flee the scene. Saitama eventually walks off into the sunrise after a long night, only to find that his apartment has been destroyed along with the rest of the neighborhood.
