Saitama's iconic hero suit.
Appearance[]
Saitama's hero suit is a soft full-body yellow onesie type of suit that has a white zip on the chest area. It also has a huge white cape that attaches to the suit from big black buttons on each side of the shoulders. It also comes with two dark red rubber gloves with matching boots. Equipped with a black belt with a good metal buckle on the front. When Saitama is casual, it hides his muscles, giving a baggy look to it - but when Saitama is serious, the suit gets really tight around his body muscles, really showing them off. Size wise, it seems to fit perfectly with Saitama's 175 cm height and muscular body type. The suit looks to be made out of high, good-quality fabric and materials.
Near the beginning of the manga's story, the colour of Saitama's cape was red (House of Evolution Arc) but was later changed to white (Giant Meteor Arc). In the original webcomic, Saitama's hero suit doesn't have a zip, as it was something added to the manga, which was kept when adapting the series into an anime. Also in the webomic, ONE has done multiple drawings of Saitama's suit in different colours.
The costume is partly the reason of Saitama's hero name Caped Baldy (ハゲマント, Hagemanto; Viz: Bald Cape) due to his appearance of being bald and having a huge cape.
Overview[]
Originally before Saitama had this hero suit, he used to use his old blue training tracksuit. Though in Road to Hero the suit was made and gifted to him by a draper who used to fix Saitama's tracksuit. Saitama used to be too embarrassed to even wear the hero suit hiding it under his tracksuit, though over time came to love it and it has become something very special to him. He looks disappointed if he ever accidentally stains it with food when eating, and usually doesn't want anything to "burn his cape" when in battle. The suit is washed regularly and Saitama as even been seen washing monster blood off his gloves.
The hero suit appears to be fairly durable. However, this could be attributed to the comic book trope of indestructible clothing. It's implied that Genos repairs the suit whenever it gets damaged. It's taken slight damage from an energy blast from Boros, said to vaporize the bones of anyone hit by the attack. Though the costume still remains intact, only losing most of the cape. Another instance which it's taken damage is when a monster living within the Monster Association Headquarters pierces through the cape with its claw, leaving a huge hole in the middle of it throughout the rest of the arc. The suit was only completely destroyed once, leaving only the left glove remaining during the fight between Saitama and Garou, caused by the Hero Hunter's Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist.[1] Though, Saitama retrieved his suit back after the Ominous Future was undone.
