Royal Ripper (キリサキング, Kirisakingu; Viz: King the Ripper) was a member of the Monster Association and an infamous Mysterious Being of urban legend.[1] He was killed by Garou.[2]
Appearance[]
Royal Ripper is a humanoid monster almost entirely wrapped in bandages, leaving only his right eye and long, dark, disheveled hair exposed. Over the wrappings, he wears a tattered dress and flat black shoes. Instead of hands, he has long, sharp, straight blades, which he sometimes drags across the floor in a menacing way. Inside his body is not normal human anatomy but a grotesque mixture of hair, blood, and gauze.
Personality[]
Royal Ripper's thirst for blood.
Royal Ripper is a sadistic monster driven by an intense urge to torture and kill. He shows excitement in cutting apart anyone, whether enemies or allies. He experiences intense sadism towards children, and in the webcomic, Black Sperm was not surprised when Royal Ripper disappeared with Tareo, remarking that "He couldn't hold back his urges."[3] Phoenix Man describes him as an "a one-of-a-kind psycho who kills for pleasure," so much so that even other monsters avoid going anywhere near him.[4]
He once told Tareo that he didn't care for the Monster Association, as his only goal in life was to slaughter other creatures.[5]
Despite his psychotic nature, he behaved childishly, addressing his fellow monsters with playful honorifics. Although he enjoys toying with his opponents, he is easily consumed by his killing instincts, as shown when he attacked a distracted Garou from behind and continued to slash him mercilessly even after Garou was already down.[6]

Human Monster Saga[]
Monster Association Arc[]
Royal Ripper attempts to murder Narinki's Private Squad before Do-S stops him. Gyoro Gyoro later sends him and Bug God to watch and see if Garou can fulfill his mission assigned by Orochi.[7]
Royal Ripper confronting Garou.
Royal Ripper confronts the Hero Hunter when he questions whether he is truly a monster.[8] As proof of Garou being a monster, he demands that Garou murder Tareo. However, his urges to kill children soon take over, ultimately resulting in Royal Ripper and Bug God fighting Garou.
Royal Ripper savagely cutting up Garou.
Despite the combined efforts of Royal Ripper and Bug God, Garou manages to fend them off. However, Sludge Jellyfish takes Tareo hostage, distracting Garou and allowing Royal Ripper and Bug God to attack. After cutting Garou severely, he is stopped by Bug God. Believing Garou to be dead, Royal Ripper leaves with Bug God and Sludge Jellyfish, with Tareo as a captive.[9]
Royal Ripper sliced into pieces by Garou.
Royal Ripper takes Tareo to the Monster Association base and puts him in the same cell as Waganma. He tells the two to play nice, and momentarily leaves in order to regain his strength. He eventually returns to the cell and chooses Tareo to torture for his pleasure. After threatening the boy, he decides to begin the torture but is interrupted by Garou. Garou breaks through the wall and quickly kills Royal Ripper by punching off his head and using the Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist to rip his body apart. After his death, his bandages are used by Garou to wrap his wounds up.[10]
Abilities and Powers[]
As a Demon-level threat, Royal Ripper was a powerful monster. While teaming up with Bug God, he was able to fight Garou for a considerable period of time and give him trouble.[11] However, Garou stated that Royal Ripper was nowhere near as strong as Bang and the Hero Hunter still believed that he could have been able to defeat him.[12] Royal Ripper managed to put Garou in a near-death state,[13] albeit the latter was caught off-guard and he himself was injured during the battle, as noted by Gyoro Gyoro.[2] In his second fight with Garou, who had grown stronger as his monsterization began or progressed, Royal Ripper was defeated quite easily and quickly. However, he still managed to land a blow by piercing Garou's abdomen with his blade shortly before being killed.
In the webcomic, together with Bug God and Senior Centipede, he managed to defeat and nearly kill Garou, with Senior Centipede being slain in the battle. After the fight, Garou remarked that Royal Ripper was of S-Class hero caliber.[14]
Physical Abilities[]
Royal Ripper engaging Garou in close-range combat.
Immense Speed & Reflexes: When three monsters from the Monster Association rushed in to attack Narinki's Private Squad, Royal Ripper suddenly appeared and cut them down before they could reach the group, demonstrating his enhanced speed.[15] He was also able, to some extent, to keep up with Garou in combat.[9] Additionally, he managed to quickly sneak behind Garou while the Hero Hunter was distracted and deliver a solid slash across his back.[16] In their second fight, Royal Ripper managed to pierce a stronger Garou in the stomach at roughly the same moment Garou punched his head off, resulting in a mutual strike, which suggests he might have been able to at least partially react to the punch.[17]
Immense Strength: Royal Ripper possessed superhuman strength, demonstrated by his ability to cleanly slash apart multiple monsters with his blades. Together with Bug God, he was capable of defeating Garou and putting him into a near-death state, albeit with the help of a distraction.
Enhanced Durability: Royal Ripper was able to take a direct kick from Garou in the stomach that sent him flying, and recovered in little time.[18]
Enhanced Senses: Royal Ripper had the ability to detect the presence of nearby humans through smell.[19]
Joint Reallocation: Royal Ripper demonstrated the ability to reallocate his joints, granting his arms greater freedom of movement. This allowed him to swing his blades more fluidly and reduced the hindrance caused by his blade arms.[20]
Fighting Style[]
Royal Ripper's erratic cutting motion.
Expert Swordsman: Royal Ripper was very skilled with the blades that were in the place of his hands. He demonstrated this by making multiple erratic slashes in combat.[21]

- (To Garou) "Hero Hunter... Are you just a weirdo who gets high on pretending to be a monster? Or are you the real thing?"[22]
- "It's 2 on 1...? Not to mention, facing us... You're pretty strong."[23]
- (To Waganma) "Free him? No, no... We're going to my room... so we can play."[24]
- (To Tareo) "I hate to tell you, but... the heroes only care about that kid. So no heroes are coming to your rescue. No one even knows about you..."[25]
- (To Tareo) "I was never interested in this war. Even if monsters don't run the world... I can release my urge to shred flesh! Only killing makes life worthwhile. And I've got my eye on you!"[26]
