The Rift in Spacetime or Gap in Spacetime (くう狭間はさま, Jikū no Hazama) is the location where Divine Beasts that serve "God" reside.[1]

Overview[]

In the background of this location, celestial bodies resembling planets are visible, along with what appears to be outer space and stars. As the name suggests, this place exists between space and time. It appears to be an alternate realm, separated from the physical universe.

Blast is stationed here as part of his duty. If he were absent, divine beasts from this realm would cause dimensional rifts leading to Earth, resulting in an invasion of the planet.

Ninjas Arc[]

With Blast absent from his designated post, a tear in space opens on Earth. Byakko and Genbu, two divine beasts, emerge from the Rift in Spacetime and invade Earth. They immediately wreak havoc, destroying entire city blocks. However, they are soon eliminated by Empty Void and Blast, then sent back to the Rift in Spacetime. Later, Blast and Void teleport to this place, with the surrounding areas resembling a desert. There, they unexpectedly discover the corpse of Kirin, another divine beast. Void asks Blast if he killed it, but Blast says no, stating that it is obvious who did.

Trivia[]

  • In Chapter 156, Blast states that due to a mysterious cube's effects, he fell into the "gap in time", which "God" exploited to communicate with Tatsumaki. The term mentioned is "時間の狭間" (Jikan no Hazama), which translates to "rift in time" or "gap in time". This differs from "Rift in Spacetime" by just one kanji: "間" (Kan) versus "空" (Kū). It remains unclear whether the two terms refer to the same thing.
