Free Hugger is one of several monsters sent to create chaos in the cities by the Monster Association. Puri-Puri Prisoner is informed of Free Hugger and is sent to kill the monster. When the hero finds Free Hugger, the two engage in battle.
An off-screen battle takes place, but during the beginning of the battle, Puri-Puri Prisoner is at a great disadvantage. Due to Free Hugger's spiked body and his hand-to-hand combat style, Puri-Puri Prisoner sustains several deep cuts and wounds all across his body, while Free Hugger remains practically unharmed. Puri-Puri Prisoner feels very concerned about the situation, stating that he can't use his full power with the damage he's sustained and he cannot damage Free Hugger without inflicting greater harm on himself.
From the sidelines, several citizens are watching this battle, worrying that if an S-Class hero is having trouble with this opponent, the monster must indeed be tough. Another citizen notes that he's having a tough time because he's fighting barehanded. They then notice the iron ball chained around Puri-Puri Prisoner's foot, and yell at the hero to use that as a weapon. Puri-Puri Prisoner hears them shouting at him and thanks them for their fervent support, not hearing what they're actually trying to tell him. The spectators realize this and are disappointed, while one of the spectators finds it uncomfortable that he is fighting naked. The hero is grateful for their support regardless of the possible danger, and says that their unbridled love will not go to waste. Suddenly, Puri-Puri Prisoner comes to the realization that in order to escape this ordeal, he must accept all of the pain with deep, overflowing love. With this epiphany, he no longer fears the pain of Free Hugger's spiked body and proceeds to trap the monster with his Angel ☆ Hug, crushing the monster and making Puri-Puri Prisoner the victor.
Puri-Puri Prisoner is pleased with this victory, but the spectators are unnerved by Puri-Puri Prisoner's bizarre nature and fear that the hero is becoming enamored with them. But then, Puri-Puri Prisoner gets a phone call informing him that his homies in Smelly Lid Prison have gone missing, and destroys his phone in anger.
Quickly after, Saitama comes across Free Hugger's corpse while running throughout the city trying to find any monsters that may have still been roaming.
