This was a gift to Metal Bat from the Hero Association when they promoted him to S-Class.[1] He originally went through many old Metallic Bats that he'd always need to replace after fighting Mysterious Beings due to them breaking constantly. He requested a metal bat that would never break.
It is a very powerful and durable weapon that complements Metal Bat's power.
