Killer Move: Serious Series (必殺ひっさつマジシリーズ, Hissatsu Majishirīzu) is a simple and unique fighting style used by Saitama which consists of a series of his "serious" moves.

Saitama's serious facial expression often seen when using Killer Move: Serious Series.

Whenever Saitama wants to put in more effort during combat, he uses these so-called "serious" moves, often accompanied by a serious facial expression. However, these expressions can vary, meaning his face does not always appear exactly the same when performing these moves. Sometimes, he uses a killer move while still looking mostly like his usual, relaxed self, with only a slight frown. For example, when he used Serious Squirt Gun against Orochi and a Serious Punch against Evil Ocean Water, his expression looked much more calm and casual compared to the more intense look he had when using a Serious Punch against Boros and Garou, respectively.

The key distinction between his "serious" and "normal" attacks lies in the massive increase in power and destructive capability. Like his "normal" punches, he can unleash Serious Punches of varying potency due to his exceptional control over his strength. Interestingly, Saitama himself does not consider these moves to be anything out of the ordinary.[1] This fighting style is improvisational and often made up on the spot during battle. Its simplicity seems to reflect his lack of interest in formal martial arts training.

After being influenced by "God", Garou demonstrates the ability to replicate Saitama's strength by entering Mode: Saitama, a supernatural mimicry power. This transformation alters Garou's facial features to resemble Saitama's and enables him to deliver a Serious Punch with equal power. Because of this, Garou becomes the second user of this unique fighting style, both in physical technique and striking power. However, Garou has only been shown using Serious Punch.

Known Moves[]

  • Serious Punch (マジなぐり, Maji Naguri): The first serious move used by Saitama in the series. He simply throws an extremely powerful punch. One of his punches was so powerful that not only did it completely negate Boros's Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon, a beam capable of wiping out the planet surface,[2] but the shockwave from the punch alone was also powerful enough to part the clouds on a global scale, as well as deliver the final fatal blow to Boros. The dying Boros also declared that Saitama's fatal attack on him was not even anywhere near Saitama's true power and that Saitama was still holding back.[3] Saitama also used this move to completely annihilate and disintegrate Elder Centipede, a Dragon-level threat and one of the biggest monsters in the series.[4] When used against Evil Natural Water, who has become one with the ocean, he was able to dissipate its form and split the ocean entirely.[5] A head-on collision between two Serious Punches — one from Garou, who attained Saitama's strength level through his mimicry ability, and the other from Saitama himself — generated a Serious Punch², releasing potent destructive energy. Furthermore, after being diverted by Blast and three of his companions, the energy of Serious Punch² extended into outer space where it (presumably) destroyed numerous star systems in the far distance,[6] with the recoil launching both Saitama and Garou to Jupiter's moon Io.
    • Omnidirectional Serious Punch (全方ぜんほうマジなぐり, Zenhōi Maji Naguri): Saitama leaps from multiple angles to create a series of afterimages which all then surround and strike the opponents with a Serious Punch, seemingly leaving no room for them to escape. He first used this attack against Cosmic Fear Mode Garou, who attempted to flee through a hyperspace portal to avoid the attack.[7]
  • Serious Side Hops (マジはんぷくよこび, Maji Hanpukuyokotobi; Viz: Serious Sideways Jumps): Saitama rapidly hops from side to side, creating a wall of afterimages. He is able to walk forward while doing so, and the shockwaves caused by it were enough to easily render unconscious Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, even with his 10 afterimages.[8]
  • Serious Squirt Gun (マジ水鉄砲みずでつぽう, Maji Mizudeppō; Viz: Serious Water Gun): Saitama uses his hands in liquid to squirt a super high-pressured stream. He used this move while submerged in lava to completely overpower Orochi's Gaia Cannon which was an extremely powerful attack that drew energy from the very core of the Earth itself.[9]
  • Serious Table Flip (マジちゃぶ台返だいがえし, Maji Chabudai-Gaeshi): Saitama digs his fingers into the ground and flips a large amount of ground into the air.[10] He first used this technique against Garou while they were on Io, which completely ripped apart the moon, launching its fragments into space.[11] In the original webcomic, this move was first used on Garou in Z-City, which flipped over the Monster Association Headquarters.[12] The effect was so great that Garou's sense of direction was distorted.
  • Serious Sneeze (マジくしゃみ, Maji Kushami): Saitama simply lets out a sneeze. In his fight with Garou on Io, a sneeze accidentally blew away half of Jupiter's gas, exposing the planet's core.[13]
  • Serious Headbutt (マジ頭突き, Maji Zuzuki): Saitama headbutts his target. In the original webcomic, he uses this move to counter a punch from Garou and break his arm.[14]

  • Serious Spin (マジ回り, Maji Mawari): Saitama spins his entire body, creating a whirlwind-like effect that generates shockwaves capable of tearing through the surroundings and nearby enemies. First used against a vast army of robots from The Organization.[15]
  • Serious Whack-a-Mole (マジモグラ叩き, Maji Mogura Tataki): Saitama uses one hand to rapidly strike down enemies in quick succession, resembling the classic whack-a-mole game. First used against a massive army of robots from The Organization.[16]
  • Serious Squat (マジスクワット, Maji Sukuwatto): Saitama uses his legs to push away the target.[17] It was first used on a massive flying structure of the Organization that deploys numerous robots, sending it far into the distance.

Trivia[]

  • Omnidirectional Serious Punch, Serious Squirt Gun, and Serious Sneeze are manga-original.
  • Murata once joked that if Saitama missed the moon in his fight with Boros, Saitama could use a serious fart to get back to earth.[18]
  • According to the One-Punch Man: Hero Encyclopedia, Killer Move: Serious Series surpasses even S-Class heroes and disaster level God monsters, based on Genos's perspective of Saitama.[19]
