Following the revision of the chapters related to this article, Hyperspace is now considered non-canon and excluded from the official storyline, unless it is reintroduced later.
Parallel worlds branch out with each possibility... infinitely bubbling forth like foam. This is outside the causality of the universe. In the dimensions folded like bubbles... using special jutsu... intervene from the outside.
— Empty Void about hyperspace.

Hyperspace (くう, Akū; Viz: Subspace) is a higher-dimensional space accessible to Empty Void.

Overview[]

Hyperspace is depicted as an endless void with a space-like appearance, existing beyond the cause-and-effect framework of the universe. In this transdimensional space, Void can perceive the multiverse of parallel worlds, which are visually represented as floating "bubbles." Each bubble represents a separate and distinct universe or reality, branching out infinitely to encompass every possible variation, timeline, and permutation of events. Using a special shinobi technique, Void is able to interact with these bubbles. This is the fundamental mechanism enabling his Dimension Slash technique, through which he can strike targets and locations from outside the universe itself.

While in hyperspace, Void demonstrates enhanced spatial awareness and a bird's-eye view. This vantage point enables him to visualize and pinpoint various locations across the universe. From hyperspace, he can teleport back to Earth at a designated location and potentially traverse the universe.

Plot[]

Neo Heroes Saga[]

Ninjas Arc[]

Empty Void enters this higher-dimensional space and unleashes his Dimension Slash upon the Hero Association Headquarters in an attempt to destroy it as a greeting. This fails as Blast, who is present, safeguards the headquarters by teleporting it away from danger.

In the encounter with Speed-o'-Sound Sonic and Flashy Flash, Void enters this hyperspace dimension again in order to execute his Dimension Slash in an attempt to kill Sonic and exploit Flash's emotional vulnerabilities. This attempt also fails due to Blast's timely intervention. In his battle with Blast, Void re-enters hyperspace to launch another Dimension Slash, but once again, his attack fails as Blast quickly teleports Sonic, Flash, and himself to safety. Later in the fight, Void enters hyperspace again to unleash another Dimension Slash, which likely would have succeeded in killing the three had it not been for Saitama's intervention. Following this, Saitama pulls Void out of hyperspace towards the surface by dragging his sword.

Trivia[]

  • In Cosmic Fear Mode, Garou refers to his portals as "hyperspace gates" (亜空間ゲート, Akūkan Gēto; Viz: Subspace Gates), sharing the same kanji "亜空" (Akū) as hyperspace. Although Viz Media translates it as subspace, the term hyperspace is more fitting in this context, as the space is described as a higher dimension. Hyperspace almost always refers to higher dimensions directly, whether in speculative fiction or theoretical contexts, whereas subspace is less explicitly linked to them.
