— Garou to Genos. |
Garou vs. Genos was the battle between the Hero Hunter Garou and the S-Class hero Genos.
Prelude[]
After receiving an emergency call from Glasses following the defeat of him and the group of heroes who ambushed Garou, Genos arrives to confront the already significantly weakened Hero Hunter.
Battle[]
Genos and Garou's fists collide midair, propelling Garou back. Genos follows up his attack with his Machine Gun Blows, putting Garou on the defensive. Garou retaliates with his Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist, but Genos ducks and strikes him with a punch that is propelled by a booster integrated in his elbow. Garou intercepts this blow, then counters with a left knee to Genos' head, knocking him to the ground as he prepares to deliver a finishing strike. However, Genos fires an Incineration Cannon, which Garou just barely manages to evade.
Genos gets back up by thrusting himself upward with turbines built on his back and intently observes and analyzes Garou's movements. Meanwhile, Garou realizes that Genos had purposefully allowed himself to be hit to catch him off guard with the earlier blast. Genos tells Garou to surrender, as Garou's legs are about to give out, but instead, Garou jumps up into the trees and changes his movements to mimic that of Watchdog Man.
Genos is momentarily caught off guard by this change of battle style, and Garou uses this moment to rip off Genos' right arm. Alas, Genos arm is still operational, and the right arm grabs Garou's neck. Using its rocket propeller, the arm slams Garou into a tree, ensnaring him with wires. Genos taunts Garou, dismissing him as a mere thug not worth his time, especially compared to the Monster Association. As Genos raises his arm to fire his Incineration Cannon, Garou pushes his legs onto the tree and breaks it apart, saving himself. He then leaps onto the roof of a shed, declaring that the Hero Association need look no further, as he is the most powerful monster around and not just an ordinary thug.
Genos readies another attack, but a swarm of monsters emerges from the ground, launching a simultaneous assault to protect Garou; however, they are swiftly dispatched. A flower-like monster appears behind Garou, telling him that the Monster Association has recognized his abilities and wishes to recruit him as an executive. Nonetheless, Garou, adhering to his lone wolf nature, coldly rejects the offer and tells the monster to leave him alone. When the monster attempts to forcibly recruit him under orders from the Monster Association, it is quickly bisected by Genos' arm-blade. After dealing with the monsters, Genos declares that he cannot be defeated by a surprise attack and emphasizes the importance of training both mind and body, following Saitama's teachings. Garou then questions Genos about Saitama, to which Genos proudly responds that Saitama is the mightiest hero, unmatched by any monster.
For the third time, Genos prepares his Incineration Cannon, but this time, he is interrupted by none other than Bang and Bomb. Genos is taken aback by their presence and engages in battle with the remaining monsters still pouring from the hole in the ground.
Aftermath[]
The battle is interrupted by Bang and Bomb, leaving the outcome inconclusive. As the monsters flood out of the hole, Bang walks over to Garou, ready to engage him in combat.
