Overview

Garou and Metal Bat vs. Sage Centipede and Evil Ocean Water is the fight between Garou and Metal Bat (with support from One Shotter and Gearsper) against two gigantic monsters: Sage Centipede and Evil Ocean Water.

Prelude[]

Garou confronting Sage Centipede

Sage Centipede emerging from underground

After Sage Centipede rises to the surface, Garou jumps on it and attacks it strongly in the face, but is counterattacked by the centipede with its Centipede Grand March when he is distracted by the escape helicopter that flies over the area as well as being where is Tareo, being violently rammed against the ground. Sage Centipede taunts the Hero Hunter as in that instant, Saitama dashes towards Evil Ocean Water and scatters the liquid creature completely with a Serious Punch. Shocked at what happened, the centipede monster remains stunned as Garou approaches it for revenge.

Battle[]

As the battle unfolds, Garou notices Metal Bat, who leaps onto the monster and unleashes his devastating Dragon Thrashing. However, the attack proves ineffective, and the centipede knocks Metal Bat to the ground. In an unusual turn of events, Garou and Metal Bat find themselves face to face, with Metal Bat expressing his anger at Garou for interfering, reminiscent of their encounter during the Elder Centipede incident. Metal Bat swings at Garou, but the latter evades, knowing he has no time to waste.

Garou continues on his path toward the Sage Centipede, closely pursued by Metal Bat. Just as the monster is about to attack a news chopper filming the battle, Garou springs onto the vehicle's head, directing his attention toward the helicopter, while Metal Bat shields them from the monster's antennae. Garou successfully forces the civilians inside the helicopter to flee and swiftly delivers a powerful kick to the body of Sage Centipede. Both Garou and Metal Bat descend to the ground, engaging in a heated argument before ultimately agreeing to cooperate in defeating the colossal monster. Despite Sage Centipede's attempts to strike back, the duo manages to fend off its attacks with a series of powerful blows.

Garou and Metal Bat unleash their respective techniques, the Roaring Aura Sky Ripping Fist and Savage Tornado, upon the creature. Although Garou's attacks manage to break the centipede's armor, the monster's extraordinary regeneration prevents significant damage. Determined to find a way to halt the monster's regeneration, the two devise a plan. However, as Sage Centipede lunges toward a rescue helicopter, One Shotter attempts to shoot it but fails due to his impaired vision. The monster seizes the helicopter, taking the occupants hostage by gripping it with its antennae. In that critical moment, Garou and Metal Bat freeze in their tracks.

Suddenly, Sage Centipede launches its Centipede Grand March, causing the terrain to shift dramatically and seemingly overwhelming Garou and Metal Bat. Garou finds himself on his knees, vulnerable to the monster's grasp. But just as Sage Centipede is about to strike with its sharp mandibles, One Shotter, now with accurate aim thanks to Gearsper's support, shoots the monster's eyes multiple times, briefly distracting it and allowing Garou to break free. Taking advantage of the opening, Garou unleashes a barrage of attacks on Sage Centipede, pummeling it relentlessly. As Garou attempts to free the helicopter from the monster's antennae, Metal Bat, despite his serious injuries, appears and swiftly severs the Centipede's antennae with his Spiral of Overwhelming Victory, a powerful swing, surprising the creature.

Metal Bat, fueled by his Fighting Spirit and driven by his injuries, becomes even stronger than ever before. He informs Garou, who is holding the helicopter, of a large net located 500 meters away. Following Metal Bat's instruction, Garou throws the helicopter to the safety of the designated area, much to the dismay of Sage Centipede. Standing side by side, Garou and Metal Bat prepare to continue their assaults on the monstrous adversary. Sage Centipede mocks their collaboration, labeling it as pathetic, before charging at them with its devastating attack, 6666 Leg Grand Drill, a powerful attack that turns Sage Centipede into a drill. In response, Garou and Metal Bat synchronize their powerful techniques, Cross Fang Dragon Slayer Fist and Savage Hurricane, inadvertently creating a combined assault against the colossal monster. Their coordinated effort successfully counters the monster's charge, even cracking its tough carapace, much to its astonishment. It is revealed that Metal Bat's strength pales in comparison to Garou's, but their resonance amplifies Metal Bat's physical abilities to extraordinary levels, enabling him to keep up with the Hero Hunter.

Garou throws Sage Centipede's regeneration core

Metal Bat and Garou continue their relentless assault, with Metal Bat now capable of damaging Sage Centipede's exoskeleton with each swing, thanks to their resonance. However, the monster swiftly retaliates, knocking Metal Bat back by punching him with one of its countless arms. Empowered by his resonance with Metal Bat, Garou manages to blast through Sage Centipede's body and seize its "regeneration core," putting an end to the monster's ability to regenerate. Sage Centipede is shocked to find that it can no longer heal from injuries. Garou reveals that he had observed a specific spot on the monster emitting energy, leading him to discover the core. Desperate to reclaim its core, Sage Centipede lunges for it. Garou throws the regeneration core up into the sky at high-speed. He and the centipede monster then try to catch up to the core. Metal Bat, unable to continue fighting, lies on ground and mutters that Garou has to defeat Sage Centipede, before becoming unconscious as a result of his heavy injuries.

Garou splits Sage Centipede in half with a karate chop

Garou splitting Sage Centipede in half

Sage Centipede is trying to catch its regeneration core, which was thrown out of the planet by Garou. The monster is finally able to reach and hold the core with its antennas, having revealed its immense length as it has extended all the way from ground to space. However, Garou, who had traversed the creature's back, leaps towards the regeneration core and obliterates it by using it as a platform to jump down. Heading towards Sage Centipede with a karate chop, Garou cleaves it vertically in half, all the way down to the surface.

Trivia[]

  • Previously, Garou interrupted Metal Bat's fight with Elder Centipede which allowed the monster to escape as the two started their own duel. The inverse occurred at the start of this fight, with Metal Bat interrupting Garou's attack on Sage Centipede. However, instead of dueling one another a second time, the two reluctantly cooperated to fight Sage Centipede.
    • This is the first and only fight where Garou directly teams up with another character to face a common enemy.
