Face Ripper

Face Ripper (カオハギ, Kaohagi) was a Demon-level Mysterious Being and a member of the Monster Association. He was killed by Genos.^[1]

Appearance[]

Face Ripper was a large humanoid monster with stitched faces covering his entire body. He had black sclera and a sinister smile.

In the anime, Face Ripper is colored like human flesh, making him appear to be made out of pepperoni.

Personality[]

Face Ripper was a sadistic monster, taking pleasure in taking people's faces. He was also quite arrogant, boasting about his abilities and taunting Genos.

Plot[]

Face Ripper first appears in C-City. Genos arrives just as Face Ripper is about to attack a civilian, and blasts him with his Incineration Cannon. Face Ripper blocks the attack with his knives. He shows excitement for meeting the S-Class hero and immediately tries to slice off Genos' face.^[2]

Face Ripper continues his attacks on Genos with his knives, his movements a flurry of motion. While taunting Genos, he lands a solid blow on Genos' head with his knife, laughing maniacally, only to realize the knife has shattered. Genos uses the opening to grab Face Ripper's face and kill him using High Voltage Fist.^[3]

Abilities and Powers[]

As a Demon-level mysterious being, Face Ripper was reasonably powerful. He was also able to fight Genos, an S-Class hero, for a considerable amount of time, with the latter even admitting he was considerably fast and powerful.

Physical Abilities[]

Enhanced Strength: As a Demon-level mysterious being, Face Ripper had impressive strength. He was strong enough to damage Genos' arms with his blades and keep him on guard.

Immense Speed and Reflexes: Face Ripper possessed sharp reflexes and remarkable speed, being able to defend himself with his knives from a blast from Genos.^[4] He was also able to attack at an incredible speed, which Genos remarked on, and give the hero some trouble.^[5]

Fighting Style[]

Expert Swordsman: Face Ripper showed excellent ability with knife handling.^[6]

Large Knives: Face Ripper possessed two large butcher knives, which he used during combat and also to peel off the faces of his victims. They were strong enough to damage Genos' metal arms.^[7]

Trivia[]

Faceripper's overall design and personality might be based on fictional character Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, who mainly wears a mask made of human faces.
