"Waiting Room" (控え室, Hikaeshitsu, Tonari: 77 + 78) is the 53rd chapter of the One-Punch Man manga series.

Summary

Part 1 Version 1

Saitama is in Charanko's waiting room looking over a list of the contestants of the tournament. He is greeted by a man who seems to know Charanko. Saitama is hiding his face behind the sheet of paper, as the man introduces himself as Sour Face. Saitama tried to act as Charanko, but provoked him causing Sour Face to grab his head. Saitama tries to dodge every attack, until Sour Face kicked his wig off.

Part 1 Version 2

Saitama is in Charanko's waiting room looking over a list of the contestants of the tournament. He is greeted by a man who seems to know Charanko.

Part 2

The man turns out to be Sour Face, and he discusses a tournament incident that happened in the past, when Garou decided to win the martial arts tournament under the identity of Wolfman. Sour Face also elaborates that he wishes to win the tournament so that he will never be intimidated if he ever faces Bang or Garou in the future. Furthermore, he talks about the day when Garou rampaged through the dojo. Saitama implicitly states that what Sour Face is doing is pitiful. Sour Face leaves the waiting room feeling aggravated.

• The chapter was redrawn by Murata with additional content, and for unknown reason the chapter's number has been changed back to chapter 51.
