Black Sperm and Overgrown Rover follow Saitama as he heads towards the Hero Association Headquarters in A-City. Meanwhile, inside the Headquarters, a presentation is given to the public about the new apartment complexes. Green and Crescent Eyebroll talk to each other about the money people would be willing to pay to live in a place like this, as monster encounters are becoming more frequent. The presentation mentions that the apartments are impervious to monster attacks and only A-Class heroes or above can live here as residents while also being bodyguards. The crowd does not enjoy this fact, citing the heroes as being humans as well and can be injured. Seeing their unease, the presenter moves to a new topic, the Hero Apartment's secret weapon. Designed by Metal Knight and using an AI to anticipate, coordinate and execute the appropriate response, it is claimed to be a better defence than all of the A-Class heroes combined. At this moment, the alarm system of the building is activated.
Outside the Headquarters, Saitama, Overgrown Rover, and Black Sperm arrive at an entrance. The defence system, sensing the two monsters, sends out a Level 1 response. The entrance door opens and a giant robot emerges. As the robot attempts to eliminate the two monsters, Saitama destroys it, causing the building's defence systems to reactivate and send out a lot more higher-level ones. Like dealing with a malfunctioning appliance, Saitama slaps all of them to stop their assault, their destruction alerting the building. Believing there is a monster outside, the Hero Association sends out several heroes to deal with the threat. They rush outside, encountering Saitama and assessing the damage to the robots. When one of them asks Saitama on what happened, he tries to give a response but gets cut off when another one complains that those robots took 9 billion yen each to develop.
Now terrified of dealing with the financial repercussions of his actions, Saitama weakly states that they simply exploded. When the officials do not believe him and ask for more detail, someone shows up and defends Saitama, revealed to be King. Saitama approaches King and gives him back his video game console, albeit destroyed. King does not mind and leaves. Black Sperm, hiding underneath Rover, is surprised to see King's presence before realizing he is inside the Hero Association Headquarters. Watching nearby, Forte is surprised to see King talking with a seeming nobody. Saitama is then revealed to have been promoted to A-Class Rank 39.
