ā Garou to Blast. |
Blast vs. Awakened Garou is a brief battle between the number one S-Class hero, Blast and Awakened Garou: Cosmic Fear Mode, taking place in the Ominous Future.
Prelude[]
As Garou approaches the remaining heroes, Child Emperor and Waganma begin to bleed from their noses. The two children then collapse, unconscious. Although Garou insists he is in control of his actions, Bang believes an evil force still manipulates him. Suddenly, Blast, the S-Class Rank 1 hero, teleports in and introduces himself to Garou. He attempts to reason with him, stating that Garou is being controlled by a mysterious entity known as "God" and warns that his current form poses a threat to all life on Earth. While Garou maintains his nonchalant demeanor, he shows some curiosity about Blast's words and inquires about what he should do. Blast offers to transport Garou to another dimension, but the Hero Hunter declines, boasting that his mere presence is causing death and believing that he has become the symbol of fear. Bang tries to intervene, but Genos, using the last of his energy, launches himself at the Hero Hunter and headbutts him in the chest, though it proves ineffective. Garou grabs Genos by the hair, but before he can act, Blast intervenes, initiating a battle between the two.
Battle[]
Blast fires his Dimension Cannon towards Garou but the Hero Hunter quickly dodges the projectile while commenting it to be a lame attack. However, a portal materializes above Garou and transports him to where Blast is, followed by a powerful punch from Blast called Gravity Knuckle straight into Garou's face, forcing him to release Genos. Blast summons another portal to where Garou is flying from the force of the attack and redirects his trajectory horizontally to have him meet yet another punch to the face from Blast.
Blast continues this pattern, repeatedly pummeling Garou in the face while using his dimensional portal abilities to bring him back for each successive attack. Before long, he attempts to trap Garou in another dimension by sealing the portals through him. However, much to his surprise, Garou emerges from a portal of his own making, having mimicked Blast's powers and techniques. Garou wields Blast's Gravity Knuckle in his right hand and Nuclear Fission in his left, launching a rapid barrage of punches known as Nuclear Fission Gravity Knuckle that combines his own abilities with Blast's.
Blast adopts a defensive stance, summoning multiple teleportation rings to redirect Garou's assaults away from the ground. In the sky, a singularity forms, likely stemming from Garou's Gravity Knuckle, and it absorbs the explosions caused by his Nuclear Fission before dissipating. The force of the attack knocks both Garou and Blast away from each other when the portal Blast used to ward off Garou's attacks dissipates between them. Blast becomes concerned that if this battle drags on, Garou's emitted radiation will endanger all life on the planet. Garou compliments Blast on his capabilities but still chooses to disregard the S-Class hero in preparation for facing Saitama again.
Aftermath[]
Realizing that Saitama has been hiding his true strength, Garou decides to kill Genos to provoke Saitama into revealing his full power. While Saitama is still absent, Garou grabs a defenseless Genos, impales him through the chest, and rips out his power core, tragically killing the cyborg. Sometime later, Saitama returns from being sent flying away by Garou's Gamma Ray Burst as it begins to rain a black fluid likely from the nuclear fallout of Garou's attacks. Seeing Genos' lifeless body, a sorrowful Saitama questions his own intuition as a hero. Driven by rage and grief, he unleashes a Serious Punch towards Garou, who responds with a Serious Punch of his own, having used Mode: Saitama to replicate Saitama's fighting style and striking power once again. Blast immediately and fearfully realizes that the two colliding punches will destroy the planet.
