Asami (アサミ, Asami) is a member of Narinki's Private Squad.

Appearance[]

Asami is a young woman with shoulder-length dark violet hair and light purple colored eyes. She has visible creases under her eyes and wears a specialized black and white power suit, with a shirt underneath. On the back cover of Volume 21, she is shown to have a large skull tattoo beneath her breasts.

Plot[]

Human Monster Saga[]

Monster Association Arc[]

Asami and the rest of her team are summoned by Narinki to save his son from the Monster Association. Narinki states that if his squad retrieves his son, they will be paid very handsomely, so much so that even their grandchildren won't have to work.[1]

Asami and the squad invade the Monster Association, but are eventually overpowered and attempt to escape. Before they can escape, however, G5 intercepts them and brings them to Orochi and Gyoro Gyoro. Asami and the rest of the team are absolutely terrified, and Asami is crying as the monsters contemplate what to do with them. Then, several monsters jump to kill them, but Royal Ripper murders them before they can reach the squad because he wants the pleasure all to himself. G5 then intervenes and says their battle suits are connected to their bodies. Royal Ripper still isn't convinced, but before he can torture them, Do-S stops his sword with her whip. She suggests to turn them into her love slaves, which Gyoro Gyoro agrees with. Asami, along with the other mercenaries, are turned into love slaves.

When the heroes invade the headquarters, Do-S tells Asami and the others to prepare for battle and kill any heroes that they come across.

Do-S and the private squad come across Atomic Samurai's three disciples and engage them in battle. Asami is seen dueling against Okamaitachi with her tonfa, managing to hold her own against Okamaitachi.

Eventually, Sweet Mask interrupts the battle and, after dismissing the disciples, intends on massacring the entire squad. However, the disciples quickly return and incapacitate Asami and the other members of the squad, leaving Sweet Mask to deal with Do-S. When Do-S is taken down, the mind controlling effect of her whip breaks, returning Asami's humanity. She then joins several of the other squad members in gushing over Sweet Mask. After hearing Tongara claim that him cowering to the monsters was just an act, Asami says that she was acting as well. In reality, she was terrified to the point of almost wetting herself, a fact which she's too embarrassed to admit.

Abilities and Powers[]

As a member of Narinki's Private Squad equipped with new battle armor from The Organization, Asami has impressive abilities. Together with the squad, she was able to pressure Atomic Samurai's disciples, who are S-Class material according to Fubuki.

Mercenary skills[]

When not using weapons, Asami is very proficient in close-quarter combat and seems to use a fighting style based on athletic moves. She appears to have some degree of teamwork with her teammate Noria. Just like her leader Tongara, Asami might also be able to fake her emotions and trick others through acting, even though vicious monsters such as Royal Ripper are not easily affected by it. She was also able to replicate the behavior of a typical love slave of Do-S despite having experienced such a status only once.

Equipment[]

Battle Suit: Asami wears armor manufactured by The Organization[2] provided to her by Narinki. The armor is even more advanced than the previous battle suits, and allows her to fight top ranking A-Class heroes.

Spear: Asami wielded a large spear. She appeared to be adept in utilizing the weapon for combat.[3] The spear was destroyed by Okamaitachi.

Trivia[]

  • In the first version of Chapter 105, Asami wielded two tonfa as her main weapons instead of a spear.[4]
  • Asami drinks beer.[5]
  • Asami is named after asanomi, 麻の実, hemp seeds, one of the ingredients to make shichimi, a Japanese spice mixture.
