The Ancient King (古代王, Kodaiō) was the king of the Terror Lizard Clan. He was killed by Tatsumaki.[1]
Appearance[]
The Ancient King was a colossal, loosely humanoid creature that had various animalistic features, such as scales, horns, sharp teeth, claws, and a reptilian tail.
Personality[]
The Ancient King was a ferocious and violent being who wished to take over the surface of the Earth for his race, much like the majority of the other "kings".
Plot[]
Hero Association Saga[]
Alien Conquerors Arc[]
The Ancient King awakens after 300,000,000 years of slumber, which he spent waiting for the kings of the other clans to be taken out. He is attacked by Earth's military forces, but the missiles prove ineffective against the Terror Lizard's skin. The Hero Association deploys Tatsumaki who takes care of the Mysterious Being.[2]
After a brief conversation, the S-Class hero kills the giant monster by crushing him with a giant rock using her telekinetic powers.[3]
Abilities and Powers[]
Not much was seen of his abilities, due to how quickly Tatsumaki disposed of him, however, it can be assumed that the Ancient King's strength and endurance were tremendous. Since he waited for the other kings and their armies to be eliminated, it can be assumed that he was unsure of a victory against all of them together.
Supernatural Abilities[]
Energy Projection: The Ancient King had the ability to charge very large energy beams from his mouth.
Physical Abilities[]
Immense Strength: The Ancient King easily burst out of a mountain, and judging by his size alone, it's safe to assume that he was capable of causing a lot of damage.
Immense Durability: The Ancient King easily was able to withstand military missiles and claimed that it would require something along the lines of a meteor to kill him, implying that he had amazing durability and toughness.

Trivia[]
- Ancient King is the fourth of many "Kings" mentioned in the series, and the first one who was introduced in the anime before the manga, the others being the Subterranean King, the Beast King, the Deep Sea King, the Sky King, the King of the Underworld (anime-only), the "second Sea King", the Monster King, and the Forest King.
- The animation team misinterpreted ONE’s intentions when animating the Ancient King fight. ONE only wanted Tatsumaki to drop a big boulder on Ancient King. Before the boulder hits him, Ancient King has a flashback of the meteor that destroyed his race eons ago and starts to scream. She was not supposed to pull a meteor from space. The meteor scene was supposed to be flashback only. If she could do that, she would have been able to bring down Boros' ship without difficulty according to Murata.[4]
- He was introduced in the anime four years before the manga.
