<p>Dark Body Art is better. Would prefer Dark Body Fist, but this is definitely better than Dark Corporeal Fist. I know Corporeal is basically the same thing but Body is better. Maybe it's referencing that Suiryu has a dark tan. </p><p>I'm definitely not fluent in Japanese but I'm not choosing translations based on just how cool they are. I prefer ones that sound better and make more sense. Fully translating Amai Kamen to Sweet Mask makes more sense than the route VIZ chose. Darkshine makes more sense too. If Dark Body Art is the correct translation then we should use it tho. </p><p>But I'm judging VIZ on the final product. I feel like I have a pretty good judgement on English and localization. Their localization is awful and the translating decisions they choose are not good most of the time. They get it right sometimes but most of the time, they do not. </p><p>
</p><p>What my point is, is that even if VIZ's translator is great and does it accurately, VIZ ruins it with poor localization. A lot of the dialogue in the volumes is absolutely wrong, because VIZ takes the translations and localizes it badly. They have proven over 11 volumes that they often make bad choices, so I don't trust that they make the right choices for all the names either. e.g. Amai Mask is not a translation problem. It's a decision problem. </p>

<p>Neither side gets it completely right, so we should use whichever side does in each case. VIZ may be official but they're wrong sometimes. So we shouldn't just always use them. </p>

Which names do you propose to change?

To address your other point, no we should not completely follow this route. As the anime subtitles may sometimes also have mistakes, such as the Zolo/Zoro case again. Like theothersophie taking after One Piece subreddit rules when moderating One-Punch Man subreddit, I prefer to follow the route the One Piece wikia has taken and it has worked out fairly well for them. Will this mixture of using UK and Viz names take more time, maybe, but I think in the end it will be better for the OPM wikia. </p>

Cities are also different Z-City or City Z. </p>

<p>Darkshine is probably the one I feel strongest about behind Sweet Mask. Blackluster may be slightly more accurate but Blackshine is a perfectly acceptable translation too. "Shine" is a synonym for "luster". And "Dark" isn't much of difference from "Black". But "Blackshine" would work perfectly. The shine part is the most important part because of his catchphrase. If VIZ had used Blackshine I would have no problem it at all. </p><p>
</p><p>For the Cities and Classes, I like the fan version much more. S-Class and Z-City is how it would be commonly be said in English. S Class, A Class, etc... is what is always used in english anime/manga. And cities in real life are pretty much always 'X' City, like Mexico City, Atlantic City, Salt Lake City, etc... City Z and Class S just sound awkward. I don't know why VIZ decided to go against what every other anime/manga does and how people say it in english in general. </p><p>I'm fine with using Spring Mustachio. </p><p>For minor characters it's whichever is better. I like "Sitch" because it's a good localization. But I like "Chinner" over "Agoni" and "Muffintop" over "Zeimeet" because it's decent localization and no one will get the joke unless they use google translate. This is just more of VIZ's inconsistency with what they localize and how much of a name they translate. </p><p>And I'm not sure about these two because google translate isn't helping me, but if Beecake and Oldface are accurate localizations of Marugori and Fukegao then I definitely prefer the localizations. If a name is suppose to mean something and not just be a name, then it should be translated and localized. I also like Dr. Stench and Monier [Zeniru] (although Monier could use better localization). </p>

Actually I just thought of something. Darkshine is a better choice than Blackshine. Can't have Puri Puri Prisoner nicknaming him "Blacky".
